No One Was More Surprised...

Alora and Joseph are 33

No one was more surprised than Alora was when she found out she was pregnant again. She was concerned about money, room, Finch, and most importantly, Joseph's reaction.

She had to take a $10,000 mortgage to afford this home in East Crescents so Finch could grow up around his future classmates, and she still needed $20,000 to open up the real estate office she's had her eye on in Linden Park.


In retrospect it was pretty obvious she was expecting; she and Joseph had been going at it like bunnies, and she was puking up a storm. So much so, that they had to get a new toilet.

Pretty soon, it became rather obvious that her stomach was expanding, so she outright told Joseph that she was pregnant. He just stared at her wordlessly, and said "I hope this one's a girl." with a smile on his face.

Coincidentally, it was Finch's first birthday when Alora decided to announce to not only Joseph, but the rest of her family, that she was indeed with child again.
Her mother, Meadow, couldn't have been happier. Alora was her only child that has given her grandchildren, so far.

Alora and her father Leon discussed more about the new addition, and Alakai was talking to Meadow about him possibly moving to the city with his wife, Nancy. Being the youngest, Alakai was always babied, so much so that Meadow insisted he move in to their home in Orashire. Angel, being the eldest, and Alora, being the "middle" child, got off easy. Their mother didn't dote on them nearly as much as she did Alakai.

Of course, that being said, that doesn't mean Angel and Alora aren't constantly watched (and embarrassed!) by their parents. Here, their father is making strange gestures in a humorous attempt to ruin "the mood" felt between Angel and his wife, Meredith.

Meanwhile, Alora's hormones started to kick in. She felt like he didn't care that she was pregnant with his kid and he needed to help out more. Finally, she cut to the chase and flat-out told him she didn't feel attractive anymore. Which, of course, he had to contradict.

And so, contradict he did. (While their sister-in-law stares creepily in the background)

Later that night, they had a celebration of their own; to celebrate their past, their present, and their future.


I tried a new writing style, just to see if it were any better third-person style than it was first-person style. Third person is a bit easier to write, but I feel I can't go as deep into character as I can when I write first-person. Eh, I think I'll stick with third-person until further notice. ;)

On a side note, I was cracking up the entire time I was playing the Millers. Alora seriously has some raging pregnancy hormones! When she was pregnant with Finch, she was unbelievably frisky. She would not leave her husband alone! Now, pregnant with another little bundle of joy, she's chasing her husband around; always wanting to "Make Out" or "Woohoo". They woohooed right before Finch grew up, and they woohooed right after Finch grew up. It's actually rather funny, because her parents walked in on them woohooing on the sofa. They just stared.
